7) Nikon D5500DX-Format DSLR

It has the same 24.2 MP CMOS sensor over the same polycarbonate body. Similarly, it has an ISO of 100 – 25600.

What’s different is the ultra-light and compact body design with an improved grip over the D5300. Other changes include a faster processor, Touch-enabled LCD ‘flat’ picture control and a built-in Wi-Fi. However, the built-in GPS has disappeared. For all these improvements over the D5300, it costs about a $100 more. You can have it now for less than $700 with a 18-55 mm kit.

8) Sony Alpha a6500 Mirrorless Digital Camera

Besides these, it is pretty much same to the Alpha a6300 save for it’s Touchscreen. It features a Touchscreen for faster working and convenience. For these improvements ,it’ll set you back $400 more than the a6300. You can have this camera now for just less than $1400.

9) Canon EOS 80D DSLR

It features a 24 MP APS-C CMOS sensor with Canon’s Dual Pixel on-sensor phase detection autofocus system. Also, it gets a new 45-point  cross-type hybrid AF system. It still has no 4K video shooting but you can get 1080 p HD video @60fps. So, it won’t really be for videographers, I guess, but it takes amazing quality pictures.

In the body department, it’s design is mostly similar to it’s predecessor, the 70D. It gets a moisture and dust-resistant body, however. It’s polycarbonate and magnesium alloy body makes it quite durable and lightweight at the same time. You can easily control the camera via it’s Touchscreen and image sharing is faster with it’s Wi-Fi and NFC. You can have all this for just less than $1200.

10) Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100

Also, it has the world’s fastest continuous shooting speed at 24 fps.

It is very compact, you can fit in your pocket easily. It’s small but it takes great pictures, at a professional level, even. But it’s User Interface is a little sluggish, so, it wouldn’t really be for beginners. You can get it for less than $1000.
